Men's Swimming And Diving Closes Out Season With Eighth Place Finish At Atlantic 10 Championships

Kingston, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island men's swimming and diving team completed their 2003-2004 season with an eighth place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. The Rams finished with 240.50 points, just behind Duquesne University with 257.50. Junior Ben Robinson placed second in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 15:50.91 and second in the 500 yard freestyle in 4:34.37. Also, Robinson came in third in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:04.65. In the 200 yard medlay relay, the team freshman Kevin Donlevy, junior Matthew Hartke, sophomore Ross J. Mooney and freshman Anthony Randall placed fourth with a time of 1:35.54. Rhody also placed fourth in the 800 yard freestyle relay in 6:55.39 behind the team of Robinson, Donlevy, freshman John Proctor and senior Matthew Emmert. The University of Massachusetts won the three day event with 840 points.
The Rams finished the season with an overall record of 5-14.
