URI vs. UConn and Drexel Results Get Acrobat Reader

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Rhode Island men's swimming & diving team lost a pair of meets on Saturday, falling to Drexel University 168.00-127.00 and the University of Connecticut 207.00-84.00 at UConn.

Sophomore Gerard Donlevy (Lake Grove, N.Y.) won the 200 yard IM with a time of 1:59.12. Earlier in the meet, he finished second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 53.36 and third in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 47.63.

The Rams' 400 yard medley relay team of Donlevy, freshman Daniel Backler (Newburyport, Mass.), senior Ryan Sheatsley (Allentown, Pa.), and junior Derek Denard (Doylestown, Pa.) finished third with a time of 3:36.74.

Sophomore Matthew Zdara (Harleysville, Pa.) placed third in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:07.19 and later finished third in the 500 yard freestyle with a mark of 4:52.68.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, February 2 when they host Boston College at 1 p.m.
