A top 8 finisher in the 200 IM and 1650 freestyle at the 2001 Atlantic 10 Championships...Also finished 12th in the 200 freestyle at the meet...Finished 8th in the 200 IM at last years conference championships...Also posted 3 first place finishes during the season.

High School:

A letter-winner on the swimming team under coach Larry Shore...Finished 9th in the state in the 50 freestyle in 1999 and 2000...Was also an all-conference selection both years...Swam a leg on the 200 freestyle relay that was the national and state champions in 1999 and 2000.

Personal:

Born Matthew Alexander Emmert 2/22/82 to Daniel and Ada Emmert...A history major at URI with hopes of becoming a teacher and also a swim/water polo coach...Has visited Germany and Switzerland...Spent the last 7 summers as a lifeguard.
