Rob Czlonka begins his third season with the Rams in 2010-11.
Before joining the URI staff, Czlonka spent two seasons in Pittsburgh, PA where he served as an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Carnegie Mellon University - a member of the University Athletic Association, which is widely regarded as one of the top NCAA Division III conference in the country. There, he was heavily involved in all aspects of the Tartan on field training program, served as the recruiting coordinator, and was heavily involved in all of the following: game management, scouting, video and match analysis, off-season conditioning and office administration. During his two sessions at CMU, Czlonka helped the Tartans to two ECAC Division III South tournament appearances and an ECAC Division III South Championship.
Prior to his time at Carnegie Mellon, Czlonka was the assistant men's soccer coach at Oberlin College (Oberlin, OH) where he helped lead the Yeomen back to the conference Tournament after a 16 year drought. Before landing at Oberlin, he spent three seasons as Varsity Boys Head Soccer Coach at Hawaii Baptist Academy. During that same time Czlonka also served as a Hawaii Olympic Development Program (ODP) coach, and worked as a staff coach with the Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club.
Czlonka also has been involved with various camps across the country, including those at the University of Notre Dame, Georgetown University, Dartmouth College, Penn State University and the Rhode Island Elite Soccer Academy. In addition to his duties with the Rams, Czlonka will also serve as Director of Coaching for Rams Football Club, a premier youth soccer organization in the South County region of Rhode Island.
A native of Newport News, Virginia Czlonka was a member of the Chowan University men's soccer team from 1993-1995. A team captain and three-year letter-winner at Chowan University (Murfreesboro, N.C.), Czlonka earned a bachelor of Science degree in Science May 1997 and has recently completed a Masters of Science in Sports Leadership from Duquesne University in August 2010.
A graduate of Hampton Christian High School, Czlonka was a four year varsity starter and senior year captain winning four conference championships and three tournament championships. Czlonka was twice selected as an All State soccer player by the Nationa Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) and as a senior was named to the All-Amerian team by the NACA.
Czlonka holds his "B" license from the United States Soccer Federation and has also earned an Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.
Czlonka currently resides in Narragansett with his wife, Lisa, and their son, Gabriel.
