Jay Azulay

Position: Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Jay Azulay joined the University of Rhode Island staff in September of 2010. In his role as an assistant strength & conditioning coach, he has worked with the following teams: football, rowing, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's track & field, baseball, softball and swimming & diving.

Azulay came to Kingston, R.I. after spending time as a strength coach and personal trainer at Next Level Fitness in Johnston, R.I. There, he provided training programs and conditioning methods while educating athletes on issues such as nutrition, supplements and rest & recovery.

During 2009-11, Azulay was a volunteer running back and linebacker coach, as well as a strength & conditioning coach, for the Seekonk (Mass.) High School varsity football team.

Prior to that, Azulay spent several summers working at the East Bay Football Camps in Rhode Island.

Azulay, who earned a degree in Exercise Science from Bridgewater State in 2010, was a four-year member of the varsity football team as a running back, full back and tight end.

He then earned his CPR & AED Certification from the American Heart Association in May 2010 and became National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certified in October 2010.
