KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island senior Jason Pannone (East Greenwhich, R.I.) was named the Co-Atlantic 10 Golf Performer of the Week, Monday, after leading the Rams to the team title at the Northeast Invitational on Saturday.

Pannone shared the weekly award with Charlotte's Stefan Wiedergruen.

Pannone tied for second place in the individual standings after carding a three-under par 69 for the low round of the tournament on Saturday. He finished the rain-shortened 27-hole tournament at two-over par (39-69=108).

The Rams (153-293=446) made up a three-stroke first-round deficit on second place Sacred Heart to finish three strokes up on the 11-team field a Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, R.I.

Rhody will next be in action at the Atlantic 10 Championships this Friday-Sunday, May 4-6, in Winter Garden, Fla.
