HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The University of Rhode Island golf team sits in 14th place after the first two rounds of play at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate. The tournament is being held at the Hattiesburg C.C. from Oct. 27-28.

The Rams have compiled a total of 607 (302-305). New Orleans sits atop the team leaderboard, with a combined score of 581 (296-285).

Senior Mark Stevens sits in a tie for 16th place overall, with a two-round score of 148. Stevens shot a 75 in the first round of play, before finishing up with a solid one-over par score of 73 in round two.

Freshman Kevin Josephson is tied for 42nd overall, with a score of 151 (73-78). Classmate Taylor Fontaine shot the team's lowest round in the first 18 holes of play, carding an even-par 72. He is tied for 52nd place overall, with a score of 153 (72-81).

Brad Valois is tied for 71st place (82-77=159) while Bill Forcier is in 73rd place (83-77=160). Hunter Hawkins of Jacksonville State is the individual leader, with an even-par total of 142 (73-69).

The third and final round of play wraps up on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
