Rams Complete First Round at Ron Smith Invitational

Dade City, Fla. - The University of Rhode Island Golf team sits in 21st place at the Ron Smith Invitational, being held at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla. (par 72-7,152).
The Rams shot 307 on Day One. Missouri State leads the tournament with a score of 281.
Brad Valois led the team in the first round, shooting a one-over par 73. Valois began the round with a double bogey, but bounced back to record five birdies on the day. The senior sits in a tie for 48th.
Mark Stevens sits in a tie for 74th (36-39=75). Rounding out the Rhody lineup were Taylor Fontaine t105th (42-38=79), Bill Forcier t112 (38-42=80), and John Kelly t115 (42-40=82).
Louisville's Riley Wheeldon sits atop the leaderboard with a 66.
Second round play begins tomorrow at 8 A.M.
