NAPLES, Fla. - Rhode Island junior Jesse Larson fired a final-round 70 to finish in third place at 7-under par to lead the Rams to ninth place out of 12 teams at the Lexus Naples Intercollegiate Invitational at Hammock Bay C.C. in Naples, Florida.
Larson, who also carded a 5-under par 68 in the second round, outidstanced all but Baylor's Ryan Bacca (-11) and Wake Forest's Kyle Reifers (-9) in the field of the 59 competitors. Baylor also won the team competiion at 19-under par, followed by Florida State (-15), Wake Forest (-14), Illinois State (+6) and Notre Dame (+8) to round out the top-five teams.
Junior Devon Quigley finished tied for 37th place at 10-over par, while junior Jason Pannone and freshman Mark Stevens tied for 52nd at 17-over par. Senior Ben Spitz tied for 55th place at 21-over par, including a final round even-par 72.
The Rams continue their swing through Florida this Saturday and Sunday, March 4-5 at the Xavier Orange County Invitational in Orlando.
