Dave Marcotte begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Rhode Island golf program. A native of North Attleboro, Mass., Marcotte enjoyed a fine junior and collegiate golf career at the University of South Florida. From 1992 to 1996, he was an assistant pro at Agawam Hunt in East Providence, R.I. "I'm excited to have Dave Marcotte join our program," said head men's golf coach Gregg Burke. "In a state where we have so many tremendous PGA Professionals, to have the person I believe to be one of the very best join the program, is exactly what we need. As importantly, Dave will be a wonderful role model for the young men we'll bring into the program." In 2001, Marcotte was named the top golf teachers in the state of Rhode Island by Golf Digest magazine. A former president of the Rhode Island PGA, he has served on several committees with the New England PGA. He and his wife Kathryn reside in South Kingstown with their children, Samantha and Michael.
