Men's Golf
Personal: Ralph Groves is in his third season as an assistant coach with the University of Rhode Island men's golf team, having helped the Rams to an eighth-place finish in the 2004 NCAA East Regional at The Golf Club at Yale and a berth in the NCAA National Championship at The Homestead two years ago. Last year Groves helped the team to a berth in the NCAA East Regional at Lake Nona. Groves was hired by Drennan, not for his golf background, but for his coaching career and the mentoring that he could offer the Rhody golfers. Groves was the boys' basketball coach at Prout High School for 12 years, culminating with a Sea Coast League championship in 2002-03. He has also been an independent businessman for several years. |
