Feinstein named CAA Football Rookie of the Week

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island freshman kicker Louis Feinstein was selected CAA Football Rookie of the Week on Monday after he connected on a pair of field goals to help the Rams to 27-24 victory over Monmouth to open the 2008 season.

Feinstein (Irvine, Calif.) began his collegiate career by accounting for nine Ram points. The California native hit 2-of-3 field goals and was a perfect 3-for-3 on extra point tries.

The URI freshman began the day with a 47-yard field goal in the second quarter that gave the Rams a 17-3 advantage. Feinstein's second field goal came in the third quarter and was a 27-yarder which extended the Rams' lead to 10 points.

Rhode Island travels to Fordham on Saturday with kickoff set for 6 p.m. The game can be heard live on WHJJ 920 AM/99.3 FM WJZS.
