Rhody Football Announces 2010 Recruiting Class

Feb. 7, 2007

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island head football coach Tim Stowers announced the signing of 14 recruits to national letters of intent on national football signing day, Wednesday.

The Rams welcome three players from the state of Rhode Island, including Gatorade State Player of the Year DB Matt Hansen (Providence, R.I.), and OL Stan Sturgis (Warren, R.I.) from LaSalle Academy. Linebacker Dan O'Connell (Barrington, R.I.) is already enrolled for the spring semester after playing in the fall at Milford Academy.

"I am excited about all the new players that we are bringing in," said Stowers. "We are expecting a number of our new signees to have an immediate impact on filling the needs we have on the defensive side of the ball. We don't have as many signees on offense because of how many players we have returning there. Although our new offensive guys are few in number, they are high in quality."
