Tristan Burge is entering his first season with Rhode Island in 2013. Burge joined head coach Joe Trainer’s staff as the cornerbacks coach in March of 2013.

Burge came to Rhode Island after spending the 2012 season as a graduate assistant at Frostburg State, where he worked with the defensive backs and kick/punt returners. Burge also spent three seasons coaching wide receivers and defensive backs at Romeoville High School in Romeoville, Ill.

A starting strong safety at Eastern Illinois, Burge twice earned First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors and was a Third-Team I-AA All-American by the Associated Press and The Sporting News as a senior. Following his collegiate career, Burge signed as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers and spent 2007 on the team's practice squad. He also played professional indoor football with the Bloomington Extreme (2009) and the Rock River Rapids (2008).

A 2009 graduate, Burge earned his degree from Eastern Illinois in physical education.
