The Dominate The Day Foundation (DTD) - a nonprofit dedicated to continuing the legacy of former Rhode Island football player Jordan William Sebastian by helping young people become the absolute best version of themselves - will host the first Dominate The Day 5K Run/Walk and Kids' Fun Run, on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 8 a.m. The event will be held at the West Haven Boardwalk, 6 Rock St, West Haven, Conn.
Running enthusiasts and all DTD supporters are invited to participate or attend the event to raise funds and awareness for the Dominate The Day Foundation. The 3.1 mile course runs through the boardwalk, along the picturesque coastline, and is perfect for first time 5K runners. Participants are encouraged to form a team, bringing together friends and family members to challenge themselves to complete the course and raise additional funds.
The Dominate The Day premier event is family-friendly and hopes to bring families from all over Connecticut and across the nation together for a day of fun, and a day of support for DTD. Participants are encouraged to register in advance on the Dominate The Day website. The rate ($35 for 5K runner, $35 for walker, $35 for virtual and $12 for Kids' Fun Run) is available from May 1 through June 2. There will be no registration race day. Registration will close at 500 runners.
Winners in each division will be recognized as part of an awards ceremony at the end of the race. The day's festivities will also include music, face-painting, inflatables, and refreshments for all participants. Community vendors will be present with valuable information and post-race massages.
Supporters don't have to live in Connecticut to participate in Dominate The Day 5K. Anyone can be a virtual runner/walker and complete a 5K course in their hometown. This allows participants to be with the Dominate The Day Foundation in spirit and raise awareness of the foundation everywhere.
Check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. on Race Day. T-Shirts will be given to the first 350 registrants. Participants have the option to pick up their race packets and shirts from June 1-2 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at DTD headquarters.
