Keith Cothran Earns Weekly Honor from Collegechalktalk.com

KINGSTON, R.I. -- Keith Cothran was honored as the Player of the Week by Collegechalktalk.com - a website dedicated to the coverage of Atlantic 10 basketball.

The junior guard registered back-to-back career highs in scoring, helping the Rams to two victories this past week. On Nov. 20 at Monmouth, the New Haven, Conn. native had 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor.

For the week, he averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals, while connecting on better than 65.0% of his field goal attempts (17-26).

But Cothran played his finest game in the Rhody uniform on Nov. 22, pouring in a game and season-high 23 points in a victory over VCU. He connected on 10-of-16 shots from the floor, to go along with five rebounds and two steals in 33 minutes of action.

For the season, Cothran ranks second on the team in scoring (16.8 ppg) and field goal percentage (28-47, .596). He is tops on the team in steals, with seven.

Rhode Island returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 25 when it hosts Hartford at 7 p.m. at the Thomas M. Ryan Center. The game is part of the 2008 Hoop Group Philly Classic and will be televised live locally on Cox Sports Television (ch. 3).
