KINGSTON, R.I. - GoRhody.com, the official athletic website of the University of Rhode Island, will add live internet stats and play-by-play for all men's and women's home basketball games this year, beginning with the men's season opener against Northeastern on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and the women's basketball home opener against Northeastern on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Rhode Island is one of only two schools in the Atlantic 10 which use Gametracker.
Gametracker gives a live play-by-play of the game, updated after every shot, rebound and foul, along with providing up-to-the-second statistics on every player. It also provides team statistics, including points in the paint, second chance points, bench points and more.
The Gametracker can be accessed on the Upcoming Events schedule on the GoRhody.com home page or by going to the men's or women's basketball schedule/results pages and clicking on the Gametracker link for the game you wish to view.
The radio broadcast, with Steve McDonald and Don Kaull, is also available at GoRhody.com. Both the audio broadcast and the Gametracker can be accessed at the same time.
GoRhody.com continues to expand and add new features, from a seat view finder for the Ryan Center to the soon to be completed URI Athletic Hall of Fame section with biographies and pictures for all 287 hall of famers.
The site set a new record in the month of October with nearly 360,000 pages viewed and is on pace to eclipse 400,000 in November. If you have any ideas for something you want to see on the site, contact the Athletic Media Relations Office at 401-874-2409 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
