I hope everyone had a good Easter holiday.
This is the best time of the year. Forget the Super Bowl, the World Series, or the NBA Finals - and that's even keeping in mind that there will be New England teams in each of those sporting events. The NCAA Tournament is the best time of year. And there were some wild games this past weekend!
How about the shot that Rogers from Western Kentucky hit to beat Drake? Or the poise of UCLA to not get rattled and bounce back late in the game - Kevin Love is a monster! You can't say enough about Stephen Curry from Davidson. And I can attest from coaching in the Southern Conference - Bob McKillop is a BIG TIME tactician. Fran McCaffrey and Siena were unbelievable versus Vanderbilt, Jay Wright and Villanova went from the "last team in" to one of the last 16 standing. The list of plays and super games goes on and on and on.
Xavier looked dominating down the stretch versus a talented Purdue team and here's hoping the Sean Miller's X men can get all the way to San Antonio. We thought - before and after - facing them here at the Ryan Center that they were absolutely an Elite 8 team. They have few weaknesses, if any, and and have talented depth. With a bounce of the ball here or there, they have a great shot to bring some super credability to the A-10 and I hope they pull it off!
