ORLANDO, Fla. -- Rhode Island continues play in the 2011 College Basketball Invitational with a second round matchup at UCF at 7 p.m. on Monday night.
The game can be heard live on the Beltone Hearing Aid Centers Rams Radio Network (B101/101.5 FM), with Steve McDonald. The Cox Communications pre-game show begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Rams (20-13) advanced to face the Knights (20-11) after a 76-59 win at home over Miami (Ohio) on March 16.
Delroy James led URI with the program's first-ever triple-double, registering 22 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the win. Orion Outerbridge added 18 points - including 4-of-4 shooting from the perimeter - while Akeem Richmond had 16.
UCF (20-11) advanced to Monday night's game after posting a 69-54 victory over St. Bonaventure. The Knights were led Marcus Jordan's 18 points, using a big run in the second half to pull away from the Bonnies. It was Central Florida's first-ever win in postseason play at the Division I level.
A.J. Rompza added 13 points and seven assists off the bench, while Tom Herzog knocked down all five of his field goal attempts en route to scoring 10 points. UCF connected on 52.1% of its shot attempts and 76.2% of its foul shots in the victory.
Jordan - the son of NBA legend Michael Jordan - leads the Knights in scoring, at 15.7 points per game, and assists (3.4 apg). Keith Clanton (13.7 ppg) is also averaging double-figures in the scoring column on the season and is the team's top rebounder, pulling down 7.8 boards per outing.
Head coach Donnie Jones' squad has seven players averaging at least 5.0 points per game. UCF is scoring at a 69.1 points per game clip, connecting on 45.3% of from the floor, 34.5% from the perimeter, and just under 70.0% from the charity stripe. The Knights are 14-4 at home.
This marks the first time the two teams have met on the hardwood.
