2017-18 WAS HISTORIC SEASON FOR RAMS

  • Rhode Island's victory over Oklahoma in the opening round of the NCAA Championship gave the Rams 26 wins on the season, tying for the second highest win total in program history.
  • The Rams also won 26 games during the 2009-10 campaign.
  • The most wins in one season for Rhode Island was set 31 years ago, when the 1987-88 team went 28-7.
  • The Rams have won 25+ games each of the last two years, the first time Rhody has done so.
  • After winning the A-10 tournament in 2017, Rhode Island returned to the conference's title game last season. It marked the first time in program history the Rams made back-to-back finals appearances.
  • The NCAA opening round win over Oklahoma was the 91st Rhode Island victory over the last four seasons, setting a new program record for wins in a four-year span.
  • The 23 regular-season wins in 2017-18 were second-most in program history, behind only the 24 games won in 1987-88.
  • That year, Rhody went on to win two games in both the A-10 and NCAA tournaments, for a program record 28 victories.
  • Last year's 15-1 record at the Ryan Center matched the program's most home wins.
  • The Rams also had 15 home wins in 2009-10. That season, the team was 15-2 in Kingston, but the record included a pair of postseason NIT home games.
  • Rhode Island has won at least seven conference road games in each of the last two seasons, marking the first-ever time the team has won seven A-10 road games in back-to-back years.
