Hassan Martin to Play with Orlando Magic in NBA Summer League

KINGSTON, R.I. -- Hassan Martin has agreed to play with the Orlando Magic at the 2017 Mountain Dew Pro Summer League, held July 1-5 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.

The 6-7 forward and two-time Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017 will play with the host squad in five games over six days held at the Magic's practice facility.  The Orlando summer league is the first of three NBA summer events and will feature teams from the Charlotte Hornets, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The recent Rhode Island graduate worked out for six NBA teams - the Knicks, Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, and the Denver Nuggets - over the last eight weeks.  He is the third Rhody player under Dan Hurley to play in the NBA Summer League, joining Xavier Munford (2015, 2016 - Los Angeles Lakers) and Gilvydas Biruta (2015 - Denver Nuggets).

Martin and the Magic will play their first game on Saturday, July 1 at 1 p.m. against Indiana.  The game can be seen live on NBA TV and fans can access box scores, game recaps and cumulative statistics by visiting orlandomagic.com
