BRADENTON, Fla. - Sophomore Matt Sullivan (Nashua, N.H.) went 3-for-5 with four RBIs as the Rhode Island baseball team overcame a 3-0 deficit to down St. Francis 11-3 Wednesday at IMG Academy Park.

Junior Jared Trout (Gilbertsville, Pa.) earned the win to improve to 1-1 on the season. Trout allowed 10 hits and three runs - all in the first two innings - while striking out 10 in seven innings of work.

Junior Matt Preston (Dover, N.H.) pitched two shutout innings of relief for the Rams, who improve to 3-7, having one three of their last four games.

Junior Dan Batz (Mohnton, Pa.) went 1-for-4 with a RBI and run scored to continue his hitting streak to 13 games dating back to last season.

Sophomore Dan Hayden (Garnerville, N.Y.) went 1-for-3 with a run scored and freshman DJ Burns had a hit and two runs scored. Freshman catcher Josh Nestor (Nashua, N.H.) went 1-for-2 with two walks for the Rams.
