Earned four shutouts: March 3 vs. St. Bonaventure (1.2 IP), April 9 vs. Saint Louis (1.1 IP), April 24 at Richmond (1.0 IP) and in final game on May 26 vs. La Salle (1.0 IP)... Spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Chipola College (Marianna, Fla.), where he was a member of the Dean's List... Combined for a 10-2 record over 35 appearances... Helped lead his team to the Panhandle Conference (2007), Region VII (2007-08) and NJCAA National Championship (2007) titles... Was a First Team All-Conference pick in 2008 after going 6-0 with a 2.04 ERA... Also recorded 51 strikeouts with just 13 walks and held opponents to a .222 batting average as a sophomore... Had a 4-2 record with a 3.25 ERA in 36 innings pitched as a freshman.
