Unfavorable Weather Forces Suspension of Baseball's Atlantic 10 Opener at GW

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Atlantic 10 opener between Rhode Island and George Washington was halted in the third inning as a sudden hail storm swept through the D.C. area and caused a delay in play. Despite the weather conditions eventually improving, Tucker Field was deemed unplayable and play was suspended for the evening.

The game will resume at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams currently lead the Colonials, 3-0, with two outs in the top of the third inning. Justin Cherry will return to the plate with an 0-1 count, with Josh Brodeur on third and Greg Cavaliere on second.

Game #2 of the series will begin 30 minutes after the completion Game #1.
