TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Rhode Island baseball team will spend its Atlantic 10 bye week in Tallahassee for a three-game set against No. 1 Florida State. This year's trip to FSU marks the third consecutive year that the Rams have traveled to take on the nation's top team as Rhody also played at No. 1 South Carolina in 2011 and No. 1 Virginia in 2010.

Friday's game will be the first-ever meeting between URI and FSU. Despite having never faced the top-ranked Seminoles, the Rams have complied a 27-56-1 record against other teams from the ACC, most recently posting a 16-4 win at Boston College just two days after the Eagles downed Florida State, 17-6. Under head coach Jim Foster, Rhode Island has defeated ACC members Miami (2009), NC State (2009) and Boston College (2011, 2012).

URI and FSU will take the field at 6 p.m. on Friday, 6 p.m. on Saturday and at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Rhode Island (26-16) enters the series fresh off a pair of midweek victories over Brown (13-4) and Hartford (5-2). Through their last 25 games, the Rams are 20-5 - including five straight Atlantic 10 series wins.

Offensively, sophomore Jeff Roy leads the club with a .349 batting average, 58 hits and 45 runs. Redshirt senior Jeff Cammans is just behind him with a .329 average, 57 hits and a team-best 40 RBI. Cammans, Roy and redshirt junior Chris Famiglietti have each swiped 16 bags for the Rams, who entered the week ranked 11th in the country in stolen bases.

Probable starters for Rhode Island:
Game 1 - LHP Chris Pickering (5-5), 5.64 ERA, .318 AVG, 37 K's
Game 2 - LHP Nick Narodowy (1-5), 4.70 ERA, .222 AVG, 32 K's
Game 3 - RHP Sean Furney (4-0), 2.14 ERA, .208 AVG, 35 K's

No. 1 Florida State (33-7) - which has had the week off for exams - most recently posted a series sweep of #18 Miami, last weekend in Tallahassee. The Seminoles have swept seven of their 10 three-game sets this season.

At the plate, FSU is led by James Ramsey and Jayce Boyd - both of whom are batting .387. Boyd has a team-best 58 hits and 41 RBI while Ramsey leads the club in runs scored (50) and is second in hits (55) and RBI (36).
