The Rams have won nine of their last 10 games, including five straight. The Rams swept Xavier last weekend holding the Musketeers to just two runs, one earned run, nine hits and struck out 26 Xavier batters in 23 innings.
Zach Zuercher was named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week for the second-straight week, along with ECAC Pitcher of the Week after tossing his second-straight complete-game shutout.
Zuercher is ninth in the nation in strikeouts, averaging 12.1 per nine innings.
Dan Frederick has won three-straight starts, including a complete-game shutout over Xavier last Saturday. He has a 1.82 ERA which is 25th in the nation.
The Rams have five players hitting over .300, including three hitting over .350. Batz leads the team with a .424 average (28th in nation), followed by Josh Nestor (.370) and Wayne Russo (.350)
Temple enters Saturday with a 14-10 overall record and 4-2 conference mark.
Jason Connor and Pete Colon lead the team with six home runs apiece, while Al Roach has connected on five dingers.
Connor leads the Owls in RBIs with 40, while Roach is second on the team with 29.
Roach is hitting a team-high .406 out of everyday players and Connor is second on the team with a .385 batting average.
Chris Kurtz leads the Temple pitching staff with a 3-0 record.

The University of Rhode Island baseball team hosts Temple in a three-game Atlantic 10 conference series beginning Saturday with a doubleheader at noon.The Rams have won nine of their last 10 games to improve to 16-13-1, 7-2 in the Atlantic 10. Rhody sits in first place in the Atlantic 10 East Division. Temple is 14-10 overall and 4-2 in the conference.
