KINGSTON, R.I. - University of Rhode Island head men's soccer coach John O'Connor is pleased to announce the dates for the 2011 Rhode Island Elite Soccer Academy at the University of Rhode Island.

This youth soccer summer camp - which is staffed by the University of Rhode Island men's soccer coaches and players - enters its fifth summer in 2011.

"We've continued to grow each summer and continue to receive an enthusiastic response towards the camps in terms of what we've offered with training of players looking to improve their game and or play at the next level," said REISA Director and URI men's soccer head coach John O'Connor. "We had another successful summer in 2010, passing on what we know to the kids of Rhode Island as well as recruiting for future classes at URI. I can't wait to get going in 2011."

The 2011 schedule once again features half-day, full-day and an Elite Overnight Academy, designed to develop those players who are just starting in the game all the way through those with an eye on competing in college. All sessions will be held on the beautiful campus of the University of Rhode Island in Kingston.

June starts with the Advanced Day Academy (June 27 - July 1) which provides a half-day component for players in ages PK - 2nd grades and a full-day session for players in grades 3-12. The half-day youth academy focuses on individual skill development using fun exercises and games. The full-day academy is co-ed but divided into age, gender and skill appropriate training groups. Players will participate in progressive sessions on defending, attacking, shooting, technical training with the ball and various games to test what they have learned throughout the week.

Throughout the summer months the Rhode Island Elite Soccer Academy staff can also come to YOU through our Community Academies. These weekly, three-hour innovative sessions are set up with a host community providing the players and site and the REISA staff then travels to them.

The summer camp season finished with the Elite Overnight Academy (July 24-27) created specifically for high school boys with an eye on playing in college and particularly at the University of Rhode Island. Participants will be trained in sessions that give them an inside look at what will be expected at the next level.

"We continue to have players coming to URI from our camp which says great things about the quality of the players in attendance," O'Connor added.

Coaches from URI as well as other New England Division I and III Colleges and Universities make up the experienced staff. As a bonus participants get to know and work alongside players from the University of Rhode Island as they act as Assistant Coaches and demonstrators.

Rhode Island Elite Soccer Academy offers something for every age player. Quality instruction, experienced instructors, a fun environment and development as a soccer player are guaranteed. To register, please click here.
