Owen Salvestrini is entering his second year as a development associate in the URI Athletics Development Department.
In his role, Salvestrini assists in all day-to-day operations of the department including the cultivation and stewardship of potential donors. Salvestrini also coordinates events such as pre-game receptions, banquets, golf outings and numerous other special events.
Prior to arriving in Kingston, Salvestrini worked as a Training Camp Supervisor for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League in Orlando, FL prior to the 2008 season. In that role, Salvestrini oversaw and delegated 17 training camp assistants who played a vital role in team transportation and in the day-to-day operations of the camp.
Before working for the Buccaneers, Salvestrini spent the 2007-08 academic year at the BIG EAST Conference working as a Football Operations Assistant. In that role, Salvestrini reported directly to the Associate Commissioner of Football, assisting in the daily operations of BIG EAST Football. Salvestrini oversaw and evaluated all BIG EAST televised games with the Coordinator of Football Officials and distributed pertinent conference information while maintaining communication with the league office, among numerous other duties.
From 2005-2007, Salvestrini worked as a Financial Representative for New England Wealth Strategies where he coordinated with parent and affiliated companies to construct the most appropriate financial solutions for clients.
Salvestrini earned an economic degree from Fairfield University in 2005, while starting as a linebacker on the Stags' football team.
Salvestrini is a native of Ridgefield, Conn. and currently resides in Wakefield.
