Ten URI Student-Athletes Honored at Rhode Island State House
April 30, 2007 Photo Gallery from the Scholar-Athlete Awards Reception at the Rhode Island State House PROVIDENCE -- Ten University of Rhode Island student-athletes were honored for their academic and athletic achievements today as part of a Scholar-Athlete Awards Reception in the House Chamber at the Rhode Island State House this afternoon. Sponsored by Speaker William J. Murphy and the Rhode Island House of Representatives, 30 student-athletes from URI, Rhode Island College and the Community College of Rhode Island were selected and presented with a plaque and a Citation from the State. In addition, each institution honored an outstanding athletics alumnus. The following student-athletes were honored:
