URI Dean's List Students Honored at Men's Basketball Game

KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island held its annual Student-Athlete Dean's List Reception tonight in the Alumni Room at the Ryan Center.
Jill Anderson, a member of Rhody's softball program and Damien Gresko, a member of the Rams' football squad, spoke on behalf of the honorees during the pre-game reception, which was attended by URI President Dr. Robert Carothers and director of athletics Thorr Bjorn.
The 205 URI student-athletes were also honored in a halftime ceremony of the men's basketball game versus Richmond.
"It is a true point of pride to have over 200 University of Rhode Island student-athletes honored at tonight's Dean's List reception and ceremony," said Bjorn. "To have so many of our student-athletes performing on and off the field of competition is a tribute to the hard work of so many involved with Rhode Island Athletics."
Eligibility for URI's dean's list requires a student to carry 12 or more credits in a particular semester and achieve a 3.3 quality point average, based on the letter grades received during the term.
